Safari Run, San Mateo

They got what my 4yo wanted for his bday party on lock. Unfortunately, they charge an arm and a leg and then nickel and dime you for it. The staff is understandably not particularly enthusiastic as they are rinsing and repeating little kid parties every weekend day every hour throughout the entire day. I left them a tip, but I left thinking some of their parameters need to change (less frequent parties, higher pay for their employees, more rotation among employees) to make this a more joyful experience. They are basically printing money so this shouldn't be too much if a lift

1) Clean! The staff make sure that everything is kept clean. They wipe down all the structures and equipment. There is a hand-washing station right there for the kids, and hands are washed before and after play. 2) Free internet. 3) Enjoyable for different age ranges (including teenagers) 4) Arcade has a nice variety of games (air hockey, whack-a-mole, pac-man, skeeters, basketball, baseball, etc.,). 5) Fun gifts redeemable with tickets won at the arcade. 6) Lounge for adults with tv, couches, and reading material. 7) Separate eating area upstairs with kitchen. 8) Great staff -- helpful, polite, attentive. 9) Toy store. 10) Themed decorations throughout. 11) Computer area.

Fun play area for kids, and seems pretty organized and like they do their best to clean. The staff are always friendly. We have enjoyed both the open play time, a private reservation, and attending a birthday party there. The birthday party had regular play time, then a private room for pizza and cupcakes, and then some time in the arcade, which was fun for all the kids. Would be interested to see the camps but have not yet tried those or any adult workouts. The main issue is parking, there are very few spots and they fill up quickly, so you often have to park down the street. It can also get crowded at open play times, so try to go early.

The purpose of this review is to highlight the service that Safari Run provides. Safari Run was an excellent choice to use for a weekend party of 45 people. Prior to booking Safari Run, I checked it out on and open play night. While children were at play, Mason took some time to show me around the facility and explain the process for booking a party. Mason is an excellent host. A party was booked online for a 4 year olds birthday party. Roughly 20 kids and 25 adults. Food was ordered a week before the party (Señores Pizza is the catering host) , all details were in order. Day of the party, time slot was on time, the employees greeted everyone, assisted with our goodie bags and cake. They set everything up while the kids were being entertained in the Jungle. After the play time was over they escort everyone upstairs to the dining area where the staff takes care of the food prep and cleanup. They interact with the crowd and stay engaged. After eating they professionally pack up any left overs and everyone heads downstairs to the arcade room (if you chose the arcade package). Games are really good for young kids and after play they can pick out prizes from the counter with the tickets they win. Overall, the place is great. The staff really shines and works well together. The place is extremely clean and accommodating. Bravo to everyone that assisted with the party. I recommend this business one hundred percent.
